Reading and blogging for a year in 2015

After a year of more or less active blogging, it seems there are two categories that prevailed: books and a positive look on life. The latter one including a focus on the bright side, planning, gifts and things I love Thursdays. The “tilt” has great therapeutic value but I don’t think it is of interest to anyone else but me and maybe my closest friends and family. Therefore, they will go offline this year. The bright side shall stay in other types of posts (I have plans aplenty!).

I recently registered to Moly, a Hungarian community of readers. It is all about books and reading, with different reading challenges, too. I subscribed to two. One is to read five books set in the UK or Ireland, and the other one is to read 12 non-fiction books from specific areas of life. I’m not really sure about the latter one but I will try at least.

As for the 2015 reading challenge, I finished very far from reading 52 books.

With the help of Moly, and adding those three books that haven’t been registered there yet, it is estimated that I read 4200 pages this year (multiple re-readings of bedtime stories not included). With two small children demanding my full attention, every second of their awake time, it is not too bad, I think.

I read and reviewed 21 books in 17 posts, of which 8 were written in Hungarian, 8 in English and there was a dual-language post. (What a balance!)

Not surprisingly, children’s books are the absolute winners: I read 11, of which 4 taught relaxation techniques.

The author I read most from is Sophie Kinsella, with 5 light-hearted pageturners.

I read 2 blog-turned-books (plus there are 2 blog books in my current reads),

and the remaining 3 stories were more or less funny ones. I need entertainment at the end of the day, it seems.

I read 9 books in English, 12 in Hungarian (6 were translations).

5 of them were published in 2015.

(I am currently reading 3 books, 2 of them are books from blogs in Hungarian, and 1 is a funny travel book in English. These are all original languages.)

Below is a list of the books I read in 2015 (Only the newly read ones. Re-readings are not included):
